This online workshop explores how our bodies, desires, and intimate relationships are shaped by systems of power — including patriarchy, capitalism, racism, heteronormativity, and colonial histories.
YOUR POLITICAL BODY
on embodied intimacy, sex, and power
Rather than treating intimacy and sexuality as purely private matters, the workshop approaches the body as a political site: a place where power is learned, negotiated, resisted, and sometimes internalized.
Through a combination of political education (learning to recognise how systems of power shape bodily experience), embodied exercises and reflection, collective dialogue, participants are invited to examine how norms around intimacy, consent, care, pleasure, and sexuality are socially produced — and how these norms live in the body. The focus is not on performance, confession, or therapy, but on awareness: noticing how power shapes sensation, boundaries, desire, and relational habits.
The workshop is grounded in consent-based and trauma-aware facilitation.Participants are always free to opt out of any exercise.
YOUR POLITICAL BODY offers space to:
Understand how intimacy and sexuality are shaped by power, not just personal choice
Recognize embodied patterns such as over-responsibility, shame, vigilance, or disconnection as political, not individual failures
Develop a shared language around consent, intimacy, sex, and power
Reflect on how embodied awareness can inform more ethical, sustainable, and liberatory relationships and forms of activism
This workshop is suitable for activists, students, artists, educators, and everyone interested in embodiment, political education (through the body), and relational ethics. No prior experience with somatic practices is required.

I would like to make this workshop accessible to lower incomers and in order to do that I have created a sliding scale so the higher incomers can support the lower incomers.
Moreover, my needs lay in having my energy and work I put into organizing and facilitating my events valued, along my needs for sustainability acknowledged.
