Since June 2025, my artistic practice has been deeply shaped by involvement in human rights and justice-related initiatives connected to the genocide of the Palestinian people. In September 2025, I joined the Global Sumud Flotilla, a humanitarian mission to Gaza alongside more than 400 volunteers on 47 boats. The mission was intercepted one day before arrival; participants were illegally detained, kidnapped to Israel, and later deported.
Marked by solidarity, physical and psychological vulnerability, enforced waiting, and moral contradiction, this experience forms the basis of the work. It is translated into an embodied artistic language that reflects on human rights, (in)justice, care, and Western governmental complicity in the genocide of the Palestinian people.
In a time when extreme violence is globally mediated and consumed from private spaces, the performance asks: Is empathy as it functions today enough? What does it demand of us beyond observation?
This piece is participatory. However, your participation is voluntary. You are free to simply watch.
