EMBODIED RESISTANCE

TRATRA Festival

Basel, Switzerland

July 3rd-4th, 2026

Collaboration with Katherine Newton

How does it feel to live in a time marked by the live-streamed genocide in Gaza, alongside ongoing wars and widespread human rights violations across the world? The scale of systemic violence can feel overwhelming. Do we come to shared cultural spaces to disconnect from it, or to face it together?

This participatory somatic experience is an act of resistance against numbness and disconnection. It invites us to stay present with difficult realities rather than turn away. Through guided practices, reflection, and sound, we explore how systemic violence, displacement, and global injustice live in our bodies and shape how we relate, choose, and respond.

We will create space for grief, anger, fear, compassion, and hope, and reflect on the values that uphold human dignity, justice, and solidarity.
